Public Health is the art and science of protecting and improving the health of the community through education, promotion of healthy lifestyles, research for disease and injury prevention, and assuring conditions in which people can be healthy.
We provide health promotion, health education, and disease prevention and direct treatment for TRICARE beneficiaries.
Our services include: Occupational Health, Public Health Nursing, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Hearing and Optometry.
Public Health Nursing
Army Public Health Nursing is the premier globally agile public heath force that protects, sustains, and enhances Total Force readiness through evidence-based PH services. Army Public Health Nursing enables Total Force readiness through promoting population-focused health, mitigating disease and injury, assuring Force Health Protection, informing policy, and responding to emerging health threats.

Population Health
The population health nurse, located in the Primary Care Clinic, is the main resource for health promotion and disease prevention activities. They manage patient populations and ensure appropriate preventive care services are addressed.
The population health nurse is also part of your health care team and encourage you to schedule an appointment for a preventive screening. Many diseases and illnesses can be prevented through early detection and timely healthcare management.

Environmental Health
The Environmental Health section offers inspections and environmental sampling to Fort Leavenworth food facilities and establishments to provide customers clean water, safe food, a pest free environment and safety including the MilTICK Program . You will also need to complete MiLTICK Submission Form and required USDA Form
Occupational Health
The Occupational Health mission is to protect military and civilian employees from occupational injuries, illnesses and exposures due to hazardous materials or environment through pre-placement and annual medical surveillance exams, while maintaining compliance with military and civilian regulatory agencies.
