    Comprehensive Eye Exams

Complete eye exams are not just for updating your prescription. During a complete eye exam, your eye doctor will not only determine your prescription for eyeglasses but will also check your eyes for common eye diseases, assess how your eyes work together as a team and evaluate your eyes as an indicator of your overall health.

Eye exams may take up to an hour and your eyes may be dilated as part of your eye examination. This will result in blurred near vision and light sensitivity for the remainder of the day.

    Contact Lens Exams

Note: Contact lens exams are not a TRICARE covered benefit. Contact lens services are limited to renewal of current contact lens prescriptions. Contact lens exams are at the provider’s discretion. If you are currently wearing lenses, have a copy of the most recent prescription, and/or at least one set of lenses in the original packaging. Please bring this information with you to your routine exam.

One size does not fit all when it comes to contact lenses. Your eye doctor will need to take some measurements to properly fit your contact lenses. Contact lenses that do not fit properly could cause discomfort, blurry vision or even damage the eye.

Your eye doctor may request that you schedule a follow-up appointment to check that your contact lenses are fitting properly and that your eyes are adjusting properly. Your eye doctor may decide to try a different lens, a different contact lens disinfecting solution or try an adjustment in your wearing schedule.

If you are experiencing discomfort or dryness in your eyes, you should visit your eye doctor as soon as possible.

    Child Vision Exams

Even if your child has “20/20” eyesight, he or she may be experiencing vision problems. These problems may be causing learning problems and substandard educational results. The American Optometric Association recommends that children should have their eyes examined at least every 12 months or according to their optometrist’s instructions.

    Eye Disease Management

We diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts.
