Munson open house offers MEDPROS updates, medical in-processing Aug. 12

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas — Service members can complete select individual medical readiness requirements and receive medical in-processing support during Munson Army Health Center’s open house Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 1 to 3 p.m. Walk-in MEDPROS services will be available for vision, hearing, HIV and immunization requirements, giving service members an opportunity to address outstanding items before the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College academic year begins. Medical Records personnel will also be available to support any remaining newly arrived service members with medical in-processing.

Woodard assumes responsibility as Munson senior enlisted advisor

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas — Sgt. Maj. Devon S. Woodard assumed responsibility as senior enlisted advisor for Munson Army Health Center and U.S. Army Medical Department Activity–Fort Leavenworth from Sgt. Maj. Jason L. Trevino during a change of responsibility ceremony at the Frontier Conference Center July 24.

Munson Soldiers turn joint medical exercise experiences into unit readiness

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas — Munson Army Health Center Soldiers who tested their medical skills in realistic battlefield conditions earlier this summer are now passing those lessons to others across the organization.

Munson Army Health Center leaders visited Saint John Hospital, Leavenworth, Kansas, July 15 as part of ongoing efforts to maintain regular communication with area health care partners that support TRICARE beneficiaries. The visit included a tour of the emergency department—the closest emergency department to Fort Leavenworth—and discussions about processes for capturing off-post care in MHS GENESIS to support continuity of care. Munson leaders plan to visit additional area health care partners in the coming months to maintain relationships, introduce incoming staff and remain informed about services, capabilities, and capacity, available to beneficiaries.

Munson leaders strengthen coordination with local emergency department, TRICARE Partner

LEAVENWORTH, Kansas — Leaders from Munson Army Health Center visited Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth July 15 to strengthen coordination with a key TRICARE network partner and learn more about the hospital’s capabilities.

Munson Army Health Center Director Col. Jolanda L. J. Walker hears from federal employee Jason Brozek, a pharmacist and supervisor in the health center pharmacy, Saturday, Feb. 22. Federal employees work alongside service members in military treatment facilities and keep operations running in support of medical readiness and ready medical forces when service members deploy, train, or transfer.

New to Fort Leavenworth? Munson Pharmacy makes transferring and filling prescriptions easy

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas — For many families arriving at Fort Leavenworth, unpacking boxes, enrolling children in school, and settling into a new community often take priority. One task that shouldn't add to the stress is managing prescription medications.

Munson Army Health Center leaders joined the Fort Leavenworth Armed Forces Wellness Center Team for a ribbon cutting ceremony marking the reopening of the AFWC in its new location within Munson, June 29, from left Sgt. Fort Leavenworth Armed Forces Wellness Center Reopens in New Munson Location

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas — With a ceremonial ribbon cutting, the Fort Leavenworth Armed Forces Wellness Center officially reopened in its new location inside Munson Army Health Center, marking a new chapter in the delivery of preventive health and wellness services to the military community.

Regional Partnership Gives Army Healthcare Professionals Critical Trauma Experience

FORT LEAVENWORTH, Kansas — Munson Army Health Center leaders visited The University of Kansas Health System June 24 to observe firsthand how the health system’s Military Training Program helps sustain readiness of military healthcare professionals in the region.

The Fort Leavenworth Armed Forces Wellness Center will temporarily close June 19 as the team relocates to a new location. The AFWC is scheduled to reopen inside Munson Army Health Center June 29. Relocating the AFWC within the Munson footprint will help further integrate health and wellness services with patient care teams, making it easier for service members, families, and other beneficiaries to access wellness resources that support healthier lifestyles, readiness, and long-term well-being. The AFWC offers evidence-based health and wellness services including metabolic testing, body composition analysis, fitness assessments, stress management education, healthy sleep support, tobacco cessation assistance, and individualized health coaching designed to help participants build sustainable habits and reach personal wellness goals. Services are available to active-duty service members, military retirees, family members ages 18 and older and Department of Defense civilians. We appreciate the community’s patience during the move and look forward to welcoming everyone back soon as we continue helping our Fort Leavenworth community achieve their health and wellness goals.
